Meet your Clovis North High School
Director of Bands
David Lesser is the Director of Bands at the newest educational complex in the Clovis Unified School District, Clovis North Educational Center, (Clovis North High School and Granite Ridge Intermediate). He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Instrumental Music in grades 7-12 at this wonderful educational complex.
Prior to being a teacher at CNEC Mr. Lesser was the Director of Bands at Clovis West High School. Mr. Lesser is a graduate of California State University Fresno.
In 2006 Lesser was recognized by School Band and Orchestra Magazine as one of the “50 Directors Who Make a Difference” in the United States. He was also the FMCMEA Jazz Educator of the Year in 2005. In 2009 Mr. Lesser created the San Joaquin Valley Concert Band Invitational for middle school and high school concert bands throughout California which is held in the spring at the Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall on the campus of the Clovis North Educational Center.
He currently serves as the President for the Fresno Madera Counties Music Educators Association.
Mr. Lesser has been married 10 years to his beautiful wife, Carol Lesser, who is a Registered Dietician and an extremely hard working mother; they have two beautiful children, Sarah and Justin.
